Steamed Aubergine Rolls

I'm not a specialist about preparing aubergines. But even I have found a recipe of aubergines in my taste. Why sometimes I afraid of preparing aubergines? Because it can be bitter, it can take aaaall the oil if you are going to fry it. It needs smth additional like meat, mushrooms, etc. But today I've tried to prepare aubergine rolls in the steamer with meat and cheese. I'm satisfied: they are not too oil, not fat, soft and not bitter and can be prepared very quickly. Recommended to try this recipe.
Steamed Aubergine Rolls
Ingredients:
  • 1 middle size aubergine
  • 100 gr cheese
  • 150 gr meat
  • pasley, dill, onion
  • spices
  • toothpicks

1. First of all we need carefully cut our aubergine into thin long slices - like a 'tongue'

2. Put on the aubergine some salt and leave it for 10 min.
3. Now we have to prepare meat. I prefer add there lot of greens and spices such as dill, parsley, black pepper, basil and maybe some garlic. Garlic and aubergine is a wonderful combination.

4. For make a rolls we take an aubergine slice and put on it meat and turn in the roll. Fix it strong with 1-2 toothpicks.

5. Put all the rolls in the steamer plate for rice.

6. You can prepare them without cheese for make them more dietical. But I was preparing a dish for a party dinner, and of course who takes care about the waist in the party dinner? That's why I added cheese)))

7. Set the timer for 35 min

8. Serve steamed aubergine rolls with fresh green salad and sauce.
