Steamed Neat's tongue

Neat's tongue - beef tongue - cow tongue is an excellent type of meat - enough lean and enough juicy. It is ideal for diets and can be prepared in a healthy way - tongue in the steamer. In this recipe I'm going to share with you the dish created from tongue meat, onion, mushrooms and prunes (a purplish-black partially dried fruit of any of several varieties of plum tree).

Ingredients:
  • 1\2 neat's tongue
  • 1 onion
  • 2 spoon of small mushroms
  • pasley
  • spices
  • 4-5 prunes 


1. First of all we have to prepare the tongue. Some people boil it in the water - 2-3 hours. But we have the steamer :) - so we can put the tongue in the steamer and prepare it during 1,5 hours. After that we should clean the tongue from the white skin - there is nothing difficult.
So we have a steamed tongue (I've prepared the half of tongue)

2. While the tongue is steaming - we can prepare other ingredients step by step. Let's start from the onion - cut it half-rounded pieces. If your family doesn't like onion - you can cut very very small. Fry onion with mushrooms on the pan.
3. Add parsley and prunes into small pieces and add to the onion.
 4. Cut the steamed tongue into long and thin slices
5. Add meat into onion and mix carefully.
6. Put the meat-onion mixture in the steam machine and set the times for 20 min.
Delicious meat with lemon and salad.
